Featured Program

Syracuse University's Humanities Center and Connective Corridor
Located in central New York, Syracuse University is well positioned to promote public engagement in the humanities by building upon the region’s deep roots in humanistic history and culture. Syracuse’s strong core of academic programs, scholarship, and public initiatives, combined with its strategic location, allows the University to take the lead in bringing critical knowledge and insight of the humanities into the public sphere. One expression of this commitment is the Humanities Center, which will open in 2007 and facilitate interdisciplinary scholarship and exploration in the arts, culture, history, languages, literature, philosophy, religion, and more.

Another expression is the University’s Connective Corridor. This community-wide project is creating a center for arts and culture through the design of a landscape and transit system, linking the people and activities of the University Hill with downtown Syracuse.
